Oregon Vacation Day 12 & 13 (continued)

(Continued story from www.lifecaughtwithgayle.blogspot.com)

It was good to get a little beach time before heading inland.  We spotted a herd of elk in a horse pasture and they must have been use to people as they posed so nicely for us!

It was time to start heading east to I-5 and we did so, by way of 299 to Redding.  It was getting late and we decided to stay the night in Weaverville, about an hour from Redding.  Again we had clear skies so I was able to get a night shot there.

The next morning we were ready to get back on the road.  And, we left Weaverville behind!

Soon we came to Wiskeytown Lake...so beautiful!  It won't be long now.  Redding is just ahead.

We arrived in Redding and ate at the Lumberjack Restaurant...a good hearty breakfast!!

After breakfast we jumped on I-5, but not for long.  Both of us wanted to get off the beaten path...get away from the traffic and take the country roads.  It added about 30-45 minutes to our drive home, but it was a lot more relaxing and we went through a few towns and areas that we have never been through before.  Beautiful farm land.

And then it happened.  Sacramento!!  Only 2 hours from home now.

And, then HOME SWEET, HOME!!!

Many thanks to our friends and family helping to make our vacation a wonderful memory.  Until we meet again!
